Drinkie loves to ride in on the coattails of distraction. So does his new friend, Snackie (my new pet name for addiction transfer). Before I know it, I’m craving ice cold beer and candy bars!
Here we go again! My damn scale is the honesty master! I’m two pounds up, two pounds down. My weight is bouncing up and down and all around. It’s like follow the bouncing friggin’ ball!
So, here I’ve arrived at the point where I no longer love drinking. And I don’t hate my new evolving relationship with alcohol, either. It’s fair to say I now have a love – hate relationship with drinking and sobriety.
I’ve hit 150 days of consecutive mindfulness meditation that has at once helped me to personally overcome marijuana dependence and reduce my alcohol intake substantially by RAINing on my addiction.
It’s almost as though Drinkie’s been gagged. I can hear his muffled voice sometimes trying to grab my attention, but his volume is so much lower he’s easy to ignore.
