And with RAIN drinking alcohol turns from reflexive to recognized to released. All in less time than I’d wait in the McDonalds drive through for a quarter pounder meal.
I never planned to quit smoking pot. In fact, my pot addiction was simply collateral damage. It was the hapless victim of a little over a month of daily mindfulness meditation targeting my alcohol use. I should have instead titled this blog entry: How Meditation Used Me To Deal With Pot Addiction.
…anyway, I had to address, solve, or contend with one hairy problem after another. It was just one of THOSE Mondays. By mid afternoon, all I wanted was a drink. The fact that I was planning to watch Monday Night Football allowed Drinkie to take a little crack in the door and blow it wide open.
Sitting at the bar for dinner is quite a challenge when you’re trying to refrain from drinking alcohol. Lately, I’ve felt less inclined to spend time in the mountains because I know I won’t be drinking and if I do, I’ll be doing so mindfully. And mindfully is a code word for – drinking without getting drunk.
