I’ve found the R.A.I.N. technique to be quite helpful in identifying and releasing negative looping thoughts. Releasing our negativity into the vast ocean is liberating. With fewer negative thoughts to suppress, I feel less and less a need to self medicate with alcohol and marijuana. The less I self medicate, the better I feel, the less I self medicate. Win, win, win.
It’s more punishment than I expected, but no less than I deserved. There’s a lesson here that I obviously needed to learn at this point in my sobriety journey. And it’s this: A single night of drinking erases two weeks of hard earned weight loss.
I believe that it is through your own interpretation of life’s intervals that you shape the quality of your life. To put it quite simply, a glass half empty and one half full have an identical quality. They both contain identical quantities of liquid.
