Day 104 – I Love The Smell of Pot Smoke
Having survived the gauntlet of the dual threat of cold beer in the fridge and pot smoke filling my house, I feel like I’m up for any challenge!
Having survived the gauntlet of the dual threat of cold beer in the fridge and pot smoke filling my house, I feel like I’m up for any challenge!
So, to recap. I was binge drinking and pot smoking away a conservative $4,200 a year. Then I sobered up. Now I’m taking that $4,200 in sober savings and investing it in my sober investment portfolio. And I already have a few thousand dollars stashed away.
If I’m able to keep this up for 20 years and match the S&P 500 benchmark, I’ll turn $0 into $84,000 and $84,000 into $356,431.15.
Having broken down and purchased a six pack of IPA last night, I proceeded to plow through all of it in a few short hours. Upon running out of beer, and not feeling buzzed enough, I made the genius decision to toss back a rather generous glass of Pinot Noir for good measure.
In some cases, receiving a windfall can be life changing, but before you rush out and buy your new dream house or Ferrari, there are a few simple, yet powerful, steps you can take that can ensure you make the right financial decisions. Afterall, you don’t want to end up as another Rags to Riches to Rags statistic.
Last night I had a strange and somewhat disturbing experience. While applying rubbing alcohol to a pimple on the back of my neck, for a fleeting instant, I actually considered tasting it. Immediately, my rational mind rode to the rescue and prevented me from going through with it. I mean, shit, I’m not Kitty Dukakis for crying out loud!
