Day 85 – Holy Smokes They Are All Smoking Pot!
Yesterday I successfully navigated a minefield of wafting pot clouds. I passed up pipes as they were passed around. And I steered clear of the abundant imported beers. Win. Win. And WIN.
Yesterday I successfully navigated a minefield of wafting pot clouds. I passed up pipes as they were passed around. And I steered clear of the abundant imported beers. Win. Win. And WIN.
When we hung up, I was parked in front of the supermarket. I needed to run in and pick up a few things for my wife. Before long, I found myself at the end of the cavernous beer aisle itching to pick up a six pack of IPA.
There are many fears newly sober people face. I like to call these the BIG F****’s. In this blog post, I’ll cover sobriety’s five big fears from the perspective of a sober newbie.
Until mindfulness led me to meaningfulness, I never perceived alcohol or pot as impediments. Sure, it wasn’t the most productive use of my time, but it was compatible with the lifestyle it created for itself. It had set me up to think sobriety was the impediment. Think about that. It’s crazy!
I was a pothead, not I’m not. What appeared to be a permanent state proved to be impermanent after all. Yet I’m fully aware of how easily my newfound pot sobriety could revert back to full pothead mode if I allowed it to.
