The tarot reading truly amazed me. I can’t reconcile the sheer coincidence of the tarot reading with our conversations that evening. Nor can I wrap my head around how closely these cards in this specific order resembled the current state of my sobriety journey as I see it.
I’m not only not losing this money anymore, but my vice money is actually paying me!
Since I had never refused to take a hit of pot before (pretty much ever), I hadn’t noticed the Pavlovian reaction in social situations. Pulling bong hits was something altogether different. Shit, I had gone and classically conditioned myself!
I’m happy to report, today is day 90 of my consecutive meditation practice. Making contemplation a daily habit has changed my life positively in so many ways, including the development of a quiet mind. And I have no intention of stopping now. Skipping morning meditation at this point would be akin to skipping my morning coffee. That’s sacrilege!
I’ve written about this whole sugar and ‘addiction transfer’ problem previously. For the past several weeks, it’s been a pretty big crutch for me. As I’ve mentioned in prior posts, I never considered sugar swapping to be a long term solution.
